Notes: Smart Analysis is a tool, not a final decision-maker. Always verify key results using the data visible in your system. AI may occasionally provide incomplete or incorrect responses. If in doubt, cross-check with your records or reports.
Smart Analysis in Easilys
Smart Analysis is an AI-powered tool built into Easilys and powered by the PAL Assistant. It helps you interpret your inventory data by summarising results, highlighting trends, and identifying common loss reasons without exporting reports or manually analyzing data. This saves time and supports better decisions in inventory and cost management.
How to access Smart Analysis
Smart Analysis is currently available on the following Easilys screen:
- Navigate to Stock > Known losses and markdowns.
- Select the icon to open the assistant.
For full instructions, see Access the Mapal AI Assistant.
How it works
- Opens in a side panel or overlay with a Smart Analysis header.
- You interact via a chat-style interface using natural language questions.
- The AI analyses only the data visible in your current view and timeframe.
- Results include quantities, breakdowns, recommendations, and a timestamp for when the analysis was run.
Example Use Cases
1. Product Loss Analysis: "Which products had the highest losses during the period?"
- AI identifies specific products (e.g., JUS D'ORANGE 1L PRESSADE) with exact quantities lost
- Explains reasons for losses (breakage, expiration)
- Provides context about impact on business
2. Loss Reason Analysis: "What are the most frequent loss reasons?"
- AI identifies patterns (e.g., DLC DEPASSEE - expired products being most common)
- Breaks down by specific product categories (CAMEMBERT LAIT CRU 240G PC)
- Explains different loss types (CASSE for breakage, PERTE for loss)
Business value
Using Smart Analysis in Easilys provides:
- Faster decision making: managers see key insights immediately.
- Cost reduction opportunities: by identifying patterns in waste and losses.
- Actionable recommendations: highlighting where interventions will have the most impact.
- Data-driven management: enabling more efficient inventory practices and reduced product waste.
Things to keep in mind
- Smart Analysis only works with the data currently visible on-screen.
- If you want broader insights (e.g., across multiple weeks, suppliers, or product categories), adjust your filters and display settings before launching Smart Analysis.
- The quality of insights depends directly on the accuracy and scope of the data shown in your view.
