Enhancements
New 1–5 Number Rating Questions for Push Surveys
Survey creators can now add a 1–5 number rating question to push surveys, allowing employees to select a score from 1 to 5. The results show the number and percentage of responses for each score, along with the average rating to one decimal place.
Why this Matters
Numeric ratings make it easier to analyse survey responses and compare scores over time, without using the existing smiley-face satisfaction rating.
Key Benefits
- Clear numeric scores: Collect ratings on a consistent scale from 1 to 5.
- Easier analysis: View the number and percentage of responses for each score, alongside the average rating.
- Existing question types unchanged: The new numeric rating is available alongside the existing satisfaction rating.
View Likes and Comments on Recognitions
Engagement admins can now view who liked a recognition and read its comments directly from the Recognitions list. Selecting the likes or comments count opens a drawer displaying the people who liked the recognition or the comments, including the message, date and author.
Why this Matters
This makes it easier for admins to understand how employees engage with recognitions and see the feedback being shared, without having to navigate away from the Recognitions list.
Key Benefits
- Greater visibility: See how employees engage with recognitions through likes and comments.
- Easier access to feedback: View comments and their authors directly from the Recognitions list.
- More insight: Understand engagement with both individual and group recognitions.
Cleaner File Names for Post Attachments
Files attached to posts in Engagement channels, forums and news now display and download using their original file names, without the random text previously added to the beginning. This applies to new uploads, including files attached to cloned posts and events. Existing attachments remain unchanged.
Why this Matters
Clear file names make attachments easier to recognise and identify, helping employees find and download the correct files.
Key Benefits
- Clearer file names: Attachments display recognisable names without random prefixes.
- Easier access to files: Employees can quickly identify the files they need when viewing and downloading attachments.
- Improved user experience: Downloaded files retain a clear, recognisable name.
Recognition Allowance Count Improvements
The remaining recognition count in Mapal One now displays a minimum of zero when an employee has already given more recognitions than their updated monthly allowance. This ensures employees always see a clear, meaningful count of their remaining recognitions.
Why this Matters
Employees can easily understand their remaining recognition allowance when monthly limits change, helping them keep track of their recognition activity.
Key Benefits
- Clearer allowance tracking: Employees can easily see how many recognitions they have remaining.
- Greater clarity: A count of zero clearly indicates when the monthly allowance has been reached.
- Consistent experience: Recognition counts update to reflect changes to monthly allowances.
Improved Recognition Allowance Settings
The Recognition reasons page has been redesigned to make monthly recognition allowances easier to view and manage. Admins can now see the monthly allowance and number of recognition reasons in the page header, with a dedicated Setup tab to update the allowance for all sites in the group.
Why this Matters
Making recognition allowances easier to find and update helps admins manage employee recognition consistently across their organisation.
Key Benefits
- Greater visibility: View the monthly recognition allowance directly in the page header.
- Simpler management: Update the allowance from a dedicated Setup tab without navigating through a settings icon.
- Clearer feedback: Receive confirmation when changes are saved, with guidance when a value needs correcting or a save is unsuccessful.
Engagement Score Calculation Tooltip
Client admins can now view an explanation of how the Engagement Score is calculated by selecting the information icon next to the score. The tooltip explains the contribution of posts read, surveys and recognitions, how the score and percentage change are calculated, and the date range and organisation level covered.
Why this Matters
Understanding how the Engagement Score is calculated helps admins interpret their results, trust the score and identify opportunities to improve engagement.
Key Benefits
- Greater transparency: Understand how posts read, surveys and recognitions contribute to the score.
- More actionable insight: See how engagement activity affects the score and identify where improvements can be made.
- Clearer comparisons: Understand what the percentage change represents and which dates and organisation level are included.
Bug fixes
- Engagement access without Communications enabled: Users can now access Engagement when the Communications feature is disabled for their operator.
- Adding job titles to older posts: Job titles can now be added to posts created before June 2025 without triggering the “The content cannot be empty” error.
- Former administrators removed from Engagement: Administrators who are deactivated in Mapal OS no longer appear in Engagement's admin lists or retain admin access, while their existing content is preserved. Reactivated administrators regain access.
- Collection Survey section and question counts: Engagement now displays the correct number of sections and questions for Collection Surveys when a survey’s name has been updated.
