New Features
Timed Collections
We've introduced Timed Collections, allowing organisations to create more structured learning journeys by controlling when Collection items become available to learners.
When creating or editing a Collection, users can choose from three release options:
- All at once – learners can access all Collection items immediately and complete them in any order.
- In order – learners complete Collection items in the order defined within the Collection.
- Over time – learners unlock Collection items gradually using timed stages.
Existing Collections automatically retain their current behaviour, meaning no changes are required for Collections already in use.
Why this Matters
Learners often benefit from having time to apply and reinforce what they have learned before moving on to new topics. Timed Collections help organisations create more effective learning journeys by pacing content over time, giving learners the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice before progressing to the next stage.
This approach can help improve knowledge retention, reduce information overload and create a more engaging learning experience.
Key Benefits
- Improved knowledge retention: Give learners time to reinforce and apply their learning before moving on
- Structured learning journeys: Choose whether learning is available immediately, completed in order or released gradually over time
- Improved learner experience: Deliver learning in manageable phases rather than assigning all content at once
Improvements
Collections: LTA Due Dates
We've updated how due dates are recalculated for Collections when a learner is unmarked as Long Term Absent (LTA), aligning Collection behaviour with learning items assigned outside of a Collection.
Collection due dates, along with the due dates of items within a Collection, are now recalculated based on the date the learner is unmarked as LTA.
Why this Matters
Learners returning from a long term absence should have a consistent experience, regardless of how their learning has been assigned. Aligning Collection behaviour with standalone learning items helps ensure learners have the appropriate amount of time to complete their assigned learning.
Key Benefits
- Consistent due dates: Align Collection due date behaviour with standalone learning items
- Improved learner experience: Ensure learners returning from LTA receive appropriate due dates
- Predictable due dates: Ensure learners receive the correct due dates regardless of how learning was assigned
Bug fixes
Appraisals: Multiple Choice Manager Responses | We've fixed an issue that prevented managers from submitting appraisals containing Multiple Choice questions when Manager Response Enabled and Required for Manager were enabled.
SCORM: Third Party Module Relaunch Error | We've resolved an issue that prevented learners from relaunching certain third party SCORM modules after an initial launch, resulting in a 500 Internal Server Error.
Noticeboard: Bulk Archive Issue | We've fixed an issue where multiple Noticeboard items could not be archived when one of the item names contained an & symbol.
